PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk Purchased New Fleet

On April 30, 2021, PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (ticker “TCPI”) held a naming and launch event for 2 new unit of fleet, namely pusher tug & barge. The inauguration was held at PT Panbatam Island Shipyard in Batam, where the pusher barge is made. The pusher tug, which is pair for the pusher barge, was made at Tuong Aik Shipyard in Sibu, Serawak, Malaysia. Each of these fleets is named PB TCP 3301 and PT TCP 201, having class NK.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Company's management. Mr. Achmad Sutjipto as President Commissioner of the Company in his speech said: "this new fleet is the first pusher tug & barge belonging to the Company as member of the Trans Energi Logistik Group, and the procurement of these new vessels is carried out by the Company to respond potential increase of  cargo number current and forward".
In the event, donations were also provided to orphans followed by ribbon cutting by Mrs. Aliyah Sianne Salim as Commissioner of the Company, and ended with breaking the fast together and having dinner.

Bp. Achmad Sutjipto said that: "the procurement of this new fleet is a realization of the Company's work program and is part of the Company's commitment to continuously improve service quality to its customers, as well as addressing the challenges of growing coal cargo in the future for PLTU-PLTU needs in the country and also other types of cargo such as nickel in the eastern part of Indonesia”.
The Company has targeted an increase in number of cargoes volume from year to year, and this year it is targeted to be 59.2 million MT, and in 2023 it is around 66.2 million MT, and will increase for the following years.

Mr. Dirc Richard - President Director of the Company said that “this year the Company plans to build 4 - 6 new fleets. The first phase is carried out today, and the next 2 new fleets with same type are planned to be realized in May or June this year. Meanwhile, the next 2 fleets will be held at the end of this year or at the latest early next year. "With the purchase of this new fleet, the Company hopes to improve financial performance because it can reduce rental costs"; Mr. Dirc Richard added.

With realization of these 6 new fleets, the Company and its subsidiaries will have 152 units of the fleet consisting of pusher tug & barge, tug & barge, mother vessel, floating terminal station, sea truck, heavy equipment and other supporting equipment. Apart from the Company's fleet, the Company is still chartering hundreds of fleet in 2020 to support the Company's operations."The Company chooses to procure fleet for pusher tug & barge type because this type of fleet is relatively more efficient, has faster speed, and is more resilient in facing waves so that it is more controllable in times of bad weather": explained Denry R Lelo – Operation Director of the Company.
